Organizational Legacy
Khulna University Journalists' Association (KUJA) was officially established in February 2020 with the aim of creating a unified and professional platform for student journalists at Khulna University. Its formation marked a significant transition from individual journalistic activities to a coordinated and organized body representing campus-based media contributors.
From the beginning, KUJA has worked to promote responsible journalism, ensure the dissemination of accurate information, and highlight important academic, administrative, and student-related issues through various media outlets. The organization has also emphasized ethical reporting and constructive engagement between students and the university administration.
A defining feature of KUJA's journey has been its democratic and evolving leadership. Over the years, the association has been guided by several presidents — Tehosin Ashraf, Aniruddha Bishwas, Rezowan Ahmmed, Ekramul Haque, and Alkama Romin — each contributing to its institutional growth and visibility.
As of 2026, KUJA has celebrated its 6th anniversary, marking a notable milestone in its relatively short but impactful history. The association has grown into a strong platform for aspiring journalists, contributing meaningfully to campus discourse and the broader media landscape of Bangladesh.

Our Story
KUJA was founded by a group of passionate student journalists at Khulna University. The inaugural committee was formed under the presidency of Tehosin Ashraf, establishing the association's founding charter and operational framework.
Under the leadership of Aniruddha Bishwas, KUJA grew its membership base, gaining recognition from university administration.
Rezowan Ahmmed led KUJA through a period of significant expansion — establishing the digital presence and cultivating partnerships with national dailies.
Under Ekramul Haque, KUJA launched its revamped web platform and member portal, enabling transparent tracking of association activities, member profiles, and published reports. Alongside this digital expansion, KUJA marked a major milestone by publishing its very first magazine. Consequently, engagement with both alumni and the campus community reached a new high.
KUJA celebrates its sixth year under Alkama Romin. The association now stands as one of the most active and reputed campus journalism bodies in Bangladesh, with a growing alumni network spread across national media houses.
